When you hear the name ‘Evian’, you probably think of the pure, therapeutic mineral water from Evian, France, that has been internationally renowned for decades. It is not surprising that Helene who was born and raised in the pristine and picturesque area of Evian has decided to launch “ Helene’s Natural Kitchen “ capturing the same essence , purity and therapeutic goodness in a range of healthy fruit syrups.
In 2000, Helene arrived in Australia with the dream of establishing a farm in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, but instead found herself working in procurement for the mining industry. A few years later, in 2005, she found her way to Macleay Island and made it her home, where she eventually reignited her dream of farming . Helen has established an organic strawberry hobby farm while juggling her corporate career. It hasn’t been an easy journey but after the steep learning curve, battle with the elements and fruit flies, her tenacity is reaping rewards with the farm producing luscious, delicious organic strawberries from its 2,000 plants.
What began with the strawberry farm, has now expanded to the production of bio-fermented syrups inspired by her childhood love of flavourful ‘syrops’ back in Evian. By using the bio-fermentation process, the fruits remain 100% raw, retaining all their vitamins and minerals, at the same time the process ensures the syrups are rich in enzymes ensuring the bioavailability of the nutrients without compromising on flavour. From strawberry syrups , the range has now expanded to include other fruits such as lemons, blackberries, mangoes, pineapple, raspberries, cumquats, passion fruits, even dragon fruits and there is more to come.
As we are now in the midst of winter , we could all use a little extra help in supporting our immune system due to our susceptibility to colds and flus, these products would be an ideal source of probiotics with its active nutrients packaged in delicious syrup goodness.
