In the last few years with the corporatisation of local governments ( yes the corporatisation of government in Australia- all of them ), more and more people have become dissatisfied with the performance of their local councils. Whether it is regarding planning, rates, permits, registrations, road maintenance, parking, fines, invasion of privacy, many of us are frustrated with the increasing number of council legislations and plans which impinge on people’s freedoms and simple enjoyment of life.

This is evident right across the country and the legitimacy of local councils is under question. Previous referenda have failed to recognise local governments under the Commonwealth Constitution. Questions are now being asked , under what authority does council operate ? Are their legislations lawful ? Why are grass roots needs of communities being neglected and ignored by local councils?

With councils failing to address the needs of their communities, we have recently seen the rise of “My Place” , who have so far created 184 groups around Australia . Their aim is to step up and support communities where councils fail.

Recently, former Trade Union leader John Wilson partnered with Riccardo Bosi -the national leader of the Australia One Party (https://australiaoneparty.com) to launch National Strike Australia ( https://www.nationalstrikeaustralia.org ). Their plan is a staggered approach of non conformance to get Australia back to the Constitution of 1901 and away from the unlawful corporate ‘governments’.

The first step of the plan is a National Council Rates Strike campaign. The recommended strike action process with all the relevant documents can be found here:

There is a lot to learn about Australia’s history that has been hidden from the public. So how and when did we make the move away from the Commonwealth Constitution and how can this be remedied? A good place to start for context is with former Senator Rod Culleton, now leader of the Great Australia Party .
